OUR COMMUNITY
Danja Yoga comes from an open -hearted call for human connection, compassion, and learning to love the world just as it is. We believe in the value of each person as an individual and collectively as a community.

Come for the Yoga. Stay for the community.
Our logo begins to tell our story without words. It features Eight orange dots representing the Eight Limbs of Yoga , the Eight-fold Buddhist Path, and the Eight Danja Core Values. Grey circles wind their way through these dots, symbolic of our multi-directional lives and paths. Though these paths often change course, we can always come home to the practices of yoga and meditation. Our name combines the passions and teachings of our founders, Daniel and Jake. Together, they created Danja Yoga.

Designed for your comfort. A space where you belong.
Our state-of-the-art facility was designed by Paros Architecture + Design and features modern finishes with indirect lighting for a calm space. We have three studios with warm wood floors, a private treatment area, along with sleek restrooms, and an office. Construction was completed by local favorite, Compton Construction. Custom millwork made by Forum Woodworks is throughout our space allowing for equipment storage and cubbies to store shoes, bags, and gear for visitors. To keep clients safe and healthy, we have an air filtration system that continually circulates air out of the studio spaces and replenishes it with fresh, filtered air. You can relax in our gathering space with artwork by local artist, Lisa McLymont, or shop until you drop in our retail boutique! We have lots of branded merchandise and special treasures from all over the world. Greenery is abound with plenty of plants throughout meant to bring the outdoors in.

STUDIO ETIQUETTE
Understanding basic yoga class etiquette will help you feel more comfortable during your practice. Most of the following tips are simple common sense and courtesy, but there are certain manners that are specific to yoga classes and studios. Practicing silence, self-awareness, and respect to the teacher and other students will help to ensure that your yoga experience will be beneficial and stress-free.
Studio Etiquette and Policies
Arrival for Class
We encourage you to arrive around 10-15 minutes prior to the start of your class. This will ensure you have ample time to check into class, take off your shoes and coat, and get your mat set up with props for class. It’s also an opportunity to check in with your teacher, let them know if you’re working with any injuries and to discuss whether you’re welcoming hands on assists or not. Arriving early is also an opportunity for you to connect with your yoga community, and begin to let go of your day! Additionally it supports your teacher in beginning the class on time without disruption.
Late Arrival
We get it, life gets busy and arriving on time or early for class is challenging. We’re here to support you as best as we can. If you are running a few minutes late, here’s what we can do:
- Call us (hands-free of course) and let us know you’re running late. We will set up a spot for you in class with all the props you’ll need.
- If you’re a few minutes late and class has started, we will assist you entering the class at a time, usually after centering, so you can slip in without disturbing the class, yet still have time to warm up for practice.
- If you're more than 5 minutes late, we are happy to reschedule you for another class.
- Curious about why we close the class after 5 minutes? CLICK HERE to read more…

Our classes will all offer modifications and variations for beginners, but some styles we offer can be a better fit for beginners as well. Slow Flow class has a slower pace and slightly less intensity than our Flow L1, which can be great for beginners and enjoyed by all levels of students. Our Restorative and Deep Stretch classes are appropriate for all levels from beginners to advanced, and incorporate gentle movement with floor-based postures and longer held stretches with a more meditative approach.
We get this question all the time! Yoga is for everyone, you do not need to be flexible to practice. Our teachers are passionate about sharing the gift of yoga with everyone and will always make you feel supported wherever you are in your practice. You do not need to be flexible or “in shape” to practice, but you will be surprised how your flexibility will develop mentally, physically and spiritually!

OUR FOUNDATION
Danja Yoga was founded with the goal of making yoga accessible to all. These practices have changed our lives and we are eager to share our passions. When we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.
Our scholarships. How our community gives.
Whether it's a friend, family member, or even yourself, cancer touches all of our lives at some point. Studio co-owner, Daniel Sernicola's mother Sue Sernicola passed away in July of 2021 after a lengthy and courageous battle with small cell lung cancer. Thoughout her fight, she enjoyed the practices of yoga, meditation, reiki, and aromatherapy. Shortly after her diagnosis, she received a phone call from an organization offering to pay for 100% of her treatments. This kind gesture alleviated the heavy financial burden and gave her hope. We'd like to pass this hope on and are proud to offer FREE classes to anyone who is currently being treated for Cancer. Please contact the studio for more information.
Yoga and mindfulness provide LGBTQ youth with opportunities for self-affirmation, socialization, and self-discovery. Many times, these courageous young people are presented with an uneven playing field. Danja Yoga is proud to offer FREE classes to the LGBTQ youth of our community. Please contact the studio for more information.
Compassionate Addiction Recovery Experience helps facilitate recovery for those struggling with the disease of addiction, either directly or indirectly. Our CARE program provides a gentle and compassionate path to addiction recovery through the holistic benefits of gentle movement, breathing, stillness, aromatherapy, and healing energy modalities. Participants experience a deeper sense of awareness and a return of the body and mind to its natural state of balance.
We recognize that the United States is built on centuries of racialized injustice. We acknowledge the appropriation of land from Indigenous communities, the forced unpaid labor of Black people, the internment of Asian Americans, and the countless other historical injustices experienced by the racially marginalized. We acknowledge the racialized oppression that still rages around us.
As a part of our commitment to be actively antiracist, we offer a loving kindness scholarship on an as-needed basis for those who self-identify as Black, Indigenous, or otherwise Non-White.r
Yoga is an ancient sacred practice originating in India; it shares roots with Hinduism, Buddhism, and other subcontinental Asian religions. While we honor the agency of the Indian entrepreneurs who popularized yoga in the West, we acknowledge that the practice has been coopted by American corporations and currently brings profit chiefly to white American teachers. We also acknowledge the xenophobic and racist discrimination faced by Indians in America.
As part of our commitment to honor the people from whose cultural practice we draw profit, physical well-being, and spiritual growth, we offer a gratitude scholarship on an as-needed basis to Indians and Indian Americans.
Need -based scholarships support Danja Yoga’s mission to align and elevate the lives of every body through the practice of yoga. Giving back to the community through scholarship gives life to our vision to empower individuals to mindfully engage in service for the greater good of their community. Need-based scholarships are based on financial need, socio-economic hardships, and consideration of contribution to the greater good of the community.
